How its made

I sculpt each piece in  clay, it is then allowed to dry for about a week.

If using colour I now paint anything that needs painting with underglaze colours.

I now fire the piece in a conventional electric kiln to about 1000 degrees celsius.

After cooling It is now ready for glazing and the raku firing process.

This involves heating the now biscuit fired pieces to roughly 1000 degrees celsius, removing them at that temperature and placing in sawdust.

the pieces are then quenched in water.
